The BHS Women’s Center team is comprised of many different specialties, backgrounds and disciplines to ensure that you receive the best care possible. Our surgeons and radiologists not only provide you with advanced training and technology, but also with the compassion and individualized attention you expect from BHS.
| Dr. Ruthane Reginella Head Radiologist The staff at BHS Women’s Center is led by our Radiologist, Ruthane Reginella, M.D. With a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Medicine from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Dr. Reginella also completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and a fellowship in women’s imaging at the University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Reginella leads a team of motivated and enthusiastic individuals who make it a part of their day-to-day work to build relationships with their patients. For her, every patient is unique and she strives to keep her team involved in every level of a patient’s care. In turn, patients receive personalized attention from a staff that is invested in their cases and futures. |
| Dr. Meng-G Martin Lee General Surgeon Dr. Meng-G Martin Lee is the latest addition to Butler Health System's growing list of outstanding surgeons. Dr. Lee blends the boots-on-the-ground experience of four years in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps, including deployment to Iraq, with the expertise of training from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lee prides himself on clear communication with his patients and referring physicians. He believes this openness allows for more thorough patient care and more productive relationships. |
| Dr. David Melniczek General Surgeon Dr. David Melniczek values taking extra time to care for his patients and making sure they understand their conditions – even if it often means long days. Before becoming a part of the BHS Surgery team, Dr. Melniczek graduated first in his major at Bucknell University and did his residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Though he performs the usual array of general procedures, Dr. Melniczek specializes in minimally-invasive weight-loss surgeries and laparoscopic procedures. |
| Dr. Victor E. Nieto General Surgeon When it comes to laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, Dr. Victor E. Nieto is a bit of a legend. He performed the first one in the area in 1990 and has done 10,000 since then. And because he’s served the area for 30 years since his residency at Allegheny General Hospital, he’s someone you can count on. Also highly trained in breast cancer-related surgeries, Dr. Nieto is a perfect example of the diverse skill and commitment represented by the BHS Surgery team. |
| Dr. Tony M. Maalouf General Surgeon During the 15 years he’s worked in the Butler area, Dr. Tony M. Maalouf has held fast to two simple but valuable standards: Do a good job; do no harm. And the BHS Surgery Team is stronger for it. |
| Dr. Jennifer T. Ames Radiologist Dr. Jennifer Ames received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Her radiology expertise includes Women’s and Abdominal Imaging, skills learned during her fellowship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Ames is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology. |
| Dr. Shaifali G. Sharma Radiologist After receiving her MD from the Medical College of Philadelphia, Dr. Shaifali Sharma completed a residency in Radiology at UPMC Mercy. She also completed a fellowship in Women’s Imaging at Magee-Women’s Hospital of UPMC. Dr. Sharma is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and specializes in Women’s Imaging. |
